Ms. Jenny Leon is our creative Arts Therapist who has shown great passion and creativity in assisting our clients to discover new methods to express themselves and gaining further insight towards their recovery and addiction through the arts. Ms. Jenny has an understanding of how trauma and addiction are connected and enjoys using the various media to allow clients a non-threatening outlet to explore the connection between their trauma and addiction.
From a young age, Jenny has modeled her grandfather’s artistic abilities while modeling her mother’s selfless acts of helping others. Her passion for the arts along with helping others did not intertwine until her last year of her undergraduate degree when she was introduced to the field of art therapy. Jenny graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelors in Psychology. She is currently finishing her Master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy at Pratt Institute.
Jenny’s experience has varied from working with children diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, Conduct Disorder, and Autism; providing art therapy to non-profit organizations that tries to promote mental health awareness and providing art therapy groups for individuals with a mental illness; and providing art therapy to a non-profit organization promoting group support to individuals going through grief and loss while providing art therapy group.
