MAHWAH, N.J. — Chris Herren, a former NBA player whose dream of playing professional basketball was mired by drug and alcohol abuse, will talk about his rise, fall, and path to sobriety Monday.
Herren will be at the Bradley Center at Ramapo College Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. The Mahwah Municipal Alliance is sponsoring the free event.
Substance abuse eventually cost Herren his professional career. He wrote a memoir about his life, “Basketball Junkie.” His rise and fall were chronicled in the ESPN documentary “Unguarded.”
